Pat Cunningham started in the abrasive business in 1960.  In 1970 he went to work for a company called National Grinding Wheel managing their west coast distributorship in Paramount, CA specializing in bonded abrasive products.  In 1972 he bought the distributorship from National Grinding Wheel and changed the name to National Abrasive Sales.  Through partnering with quality vendors and a lot of hard work he built the business in 10 years to be one of the largest bonded abrasive distributorships in Southern California.

In 1988, Coolant Management Services was created as a company that could work with a customer, at a customers’ facility and help them reduce costs and address environmental concerns through on-site recycling. This was to better service our growing coolant business and be a better asset to our customers.  The two companies were merged in 1990.

In 1999, we added Fluid Recycling Service to our company.  This helped us service more customers, broadened our customer base and brought new ideas, people and information together, which has been a great asset in all areas of our business.



To provide dependable service by striving to manage our customers’ coolant through reduced costs, problem solving and addressing environmental concerns by working together to allow our customers to be more productive and competitive.

We stand behind our quality products and strive to realize our customers specific needs and find solutions to their problems by giving them the correct product for their specific application.

All this happens by having a great team of employees who, together, continually strive to create a work environment that is enjoyable and secure while working as a team to grow toward our goals and operate profitably.
